Jimmy Tamborello – Dying Songs (02.25.16)

DYING_SONGS_new_header_v4

“Dying Songs” focuses on melancholic electronic music but isn’t limited to that. Sometimes it gets dark, sometimes I try to mix techno awkwardly, sometimes i get nostalgic… I like stuff that’s dreamy, ghostly, pretty and sad. I’ll try out new productions of my own, as well. I’m keeping it pretty open and we’ll see how it evolves.” – Jimmy

Boss Harmony – Punky Reggae Party (02.24.16)

PRP Dublab (1)

Punky Reggae Party broadcasts every 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month and features musical selections from the punk & post-punk period between 1977 – 1982 (although other era’s, sub-genres & pre-punk influences are often represented), as well as Jamaican music from the ska, rock steady & roots reggae era’s, respectively. Many of the British post-punk bands were influenced by reggae music & it’s recording techniques, and that experimental spark is the nucleus of the show.

Win David Bowie’s Bowie At the Beeb: The Best of the BBC Radio Sessions 68-72 Box Set + Cover Art Print

Bowie At The Beeb is a four-disc vinyl boxed set, previously released on CD in 2000, featuring the best of David Bowie’s BBC Radio sessions from 1968 – 1972. The set comes in a lift off lid box and features a full color 20-page booklet. Cool right? Well we’ve giving it away, for free. Plus, we’re including a print of the excellent cover art to help decorate your Bowie shrine.

This vinyl version features “Oh! You Pretty Things” from a Sounds Of The 70’s Bob Harris session broadcast in September 1971 which was previously exclusive to the Japanese release of the CD. The rare performance features just Bowie and Mick Ronson as a duo.

Exclusive to the set, and therefore making its debut, is the once lost “The Supermen” performed by The Hype from a Sounds Of The 70’s Andy Ferris session broadcast in March 1970. This recording was only re-discovered during research for the original CD set and remained unreleased until now.

Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe make a mess of things in red band trailer for The Nice Guys — watch

Shane Black transitioned from screenwriter of classics films like the Lethal Weapon franchise and The Monster Squad to sought-after director following 2005’s Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Since then, however, the only other feature he’s directed was Iron Man 3. Now, Black is back behind the lens for what he’s calling the “spiritual sequel” to Kiss Kiss, the Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling-starring The Nice Guys.

From the new trailer for the comedy thriller, it’s easy to see why this The Nice Guys is a close cousin to Black’s directorial debut. Gosling plays a talented but bungling private eye named Holland March who crosses paths with Crowe’s hired muscle man Jackson Healy while working a case involving a porn star’s suicide. When the imperfect partners discover a connection to another case involving the missing daughter of a State Department employee, they get drawn into a web of danger and conspiracy.

Now, sure, that plot’s some standard gumshoe mystery stuff, but in Black’s hands, it looks to be one heck of a ride. Gosling and Crowe display hilarious chemistry in some pretty fabulously dressed scenes. And there’s plenty of absurd gun play and deaths for the thriller fan. Check out the trailer below.
