Palehound unveils new song “Healthier Folk” — listen

Dry Food is the forthcoming debut album from Palehound, due out on August 14th through Exploding in Sound Records. The follow-up to the Boson alt rockers’ 2013 Bent Nail EP was recorded alongside Gabe Wax, known for his work with Speedy Ortiz and Wye Oak.

Last month, we heard the crackling number “Molly”; now, the band’s revealed “Healthier Folk”. Though tamer than its predecessor, the track is not without its own sense of bite. Here, the real sting is doled out via Palehound mastermind songwriter/frontwoman Ellen Kempner, whose tortured words (“Oh, why do they tease me?/ Oh, they just dangle me over promised piles”) leave behind only open wounds. Listen in below.
